Welcome to Issue 5 of Pause Magazine — a space where we explore what it means to build a thoughtful, sustainable business and how we can pause long enough to learn new strategies, be inspired by women creating meaningful work, and become truly intentional about growth. (Keep scrolling to open the 100 page digital issue, and literally flip through the pages.)
My hope is that this isn’t a quick read. I hope it’s something you come back to over a few sittings. (That’s why it’s now available in print!) I hope a tool you read about here comes back to you exactly when you need it. I hope you tell a friend about the magazine, and she finds pause too.
Letter from the Editor
I believe women are doing some of their best work in their 50s, 60s and 70s. It’s so important because they are bringing wisdom, lived experience, intuition, and a deep sense of what matters to the table. And the world needs this more than ever right now.
In this issue, we’re featuring a woman thriving and making a difference in each of those decades. I can’t wait for you to meet and be inspired by Sheila Darcey (Sheila Darcey - Arts & Healing on Substack), Perdita Finn (Perdita Finn on Substack) , and Nadja Piatka.
We’re leaning into the idea of a soulful summer. How can we use the slower energy of this season to learn more about our inner world?
We’ll explore writing, art journaling, sketching, oracle cards, what your birthday might reveal about you, and what some of our favorite assessments can teach us about ourselves. We’ll talk about becoming readers and journalers and about how to weave creative practices into a busy life. I just bought a summer journal that can support my new art journaling practice as Holly Becker / Decor8 is teaching.
My hope for you this summer is that it feels more restorative than ever, and also more fruitful. I hope you hold the fullness of your life with more ease because time and inner work have given you perspective. That you rest deeply, enjoy fully, and still create meaningful momentum in ways you may not expect.
We’ll look at how not to ghost your business this summer with Sue B. Zimmerman (The Soulful Selling Sisterhood on Substack), learn more about how your nervous system may be secretly sabotaging your business (check out the quiz and solution from Summer B. Joy), and try a 30-day challenge that’s already working for my clients in FLOW365.
Throughout, we’ve got doable steps you can take to up-level your business, restore your body, and find your pause.
Happy summer!
With so much love,
Mia

I’m so excited about the print version. My dream is that women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s take this magazine to the pool, to the beach, or out to the back porch with a cup of coffee. That it can sit in a tote bag, on a bedside table, or next to a favorite chair, waiting for a quiet moment.
If you’re reading this on your phone and want to be one of those women turning down page corners in the printed issue and filling out planning pages, get your copy now.
Be warned, it is not coming through Amazon Prime and takes about a week.
Download the Planning Sheets
If you get the print version, it has some planning sheets built in.
We’re a community here. My deepest hope is that you will read these articles and listen to these conversations, that you discuss in comments, that you try the practices, use the work sheets, and share these things with others.
And I know that it is hard to balance all the things, that community and support help us follow through. If you want more to help you practice your pause, consider a paid membership where we get to do some of the planning and connecting together.

Congratulations Mia, this looks wonderful and I'm so proud of you for also launching this in print! Huge success to you - I see nothing but great things ahead!
Congratulations on your first PRINT issue and truly honored to be part of it!
